Advancing New Zealand’s Transition to a Low Emission Economy

The Hydrogen Council was formed in September 2018 by private and public sector organisations with seed funding from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment to support the progression and uptake of low emission hydrogen in New Zealand. 

We are New Zealand’s leading hydrogen agency.  We are an intrinsic part of New Zealand’s developing hydrogen economy as well as an important link to the opportunities that are evolving globally. 

Our Members are at the forefront of developing world leading hydrogen projects that can have a significant impact domestically and internationally. This is being achieved utilising our world renowned kiwi ingenuity and through multiple international partnerships.

Our Members include representatives from across the electricity and gas generation and distribution networks, road and maritime transport providers, R&D institutions as well as roading and engineering specialists, technology providers, economic development agencies and local government.

Delivering innovation through collaboration is at the heart of advancing our hydrogen supply chain and we invite you to join us on this exciting journey.
