Peter leads and manages the Economic Diplomacy and Policy team in the Economic Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. A key focus of the team’s work is supporting the Government’s transition to a greener economy. He returned last year from a four-year posting as Ambassador to the Philippines. Before that he was the Deputy Head of the New Zealand Mission in Tokyo. In these roles he has supported and continues to support initiatives to promote stronger renewable energy and hydrogen bilateral cooperation. Peter has also served in Honiara and London.
